My Life in Black and White
This looks amazing. The Beatles own version of the popular Rock Band franchise is coming to stores on 9/9/09 and from what we’ve seen so far it looks good. Real good. The gameplay should be more or less exactly the same as seen in Rock Band 2. The story mode promises to take the players on a journey through the career of The Beatles from the Cavern Club to the rooftop performance during the recording of Let it Be. “Dreamscapes” are used to represent songs from the studio era as we see the Beatles in the studio and then a visual representation of their song. The best part (or maybe the worst if you’re watching) would appear to be the addition of three part harmony support. This means that you and two other of your friends can try to sing in awesome beatle harmonies while also playing guitar, bass or drums. Or, you could have 6, yes 6, people play the game at the same time. Nice.
45 songs are apparently going to be included on the disc with Abbey Road being released not too far in the future. Can’t wait for 7 minutes and 43 seconds of I Want You. As much as I’m not looking forward to forking out 250 dollars for this one its inevitably going to happen. Oh man.
Conan is back and better than ever! Or at least exactly as good as he was the past few years. The move to California and a different time slot didn’t affect the show at all (so far). The opening was hilarious, albeit a bit predictable. His stopping the frantic run across America to check out a Doll Museum of sorts was classic Conan humor. The Universal tour bit was not bad at all and the reappearance of Conan’s Ford Taurus is always appreciated. The set seems a little too flashy at first but I guess it could be looked at as Conan upgrading in all aspects of the show, or something. All in all a very good first show which we can all hope is just the beginning for Cone Zone.
Took me long enough, right? The best music video ever. Well, in my opinion. Featuring Some Guy and Rachael Leigh Cook (remember her, Boat?) and the same neighborhood set used in the Barenaked Ladies video for “Call and Answer”. Anyway, enjoy “Dressed to Kill” by New Found Glory.
There he is. So, uh, welcome to the newest, cooliest blog on the internets, “My Life in Black and White”. And this is my life. There’s gonna be soooooo much fun stuff here in the future! Like five more o’s much. Movies may be discussed or reviewed if you will. I will frequently tell you what you should have done. Baseball could be touched upon. No statistics though. Just pictures and fun facts. Yeah. Fun facts, I know. I will tell you about television shows that you should be watching. If music exists that I am a fan of you’ll probably get a review or I’ll tell you, the reader(s) that you should be listening to it, whatever it is. The name might change and the format and colors and whatnot will almost certainly change so keep an eye out for that. I’m speaking to you. Yes you, Ryan “the Boat” Hoffman. So, uh yeah. This is become a poster.
